Privacy policy
This policy matches the scripts this build actually loads. Last updated 5 November 2026.
Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra load by default on the first page view. YouTube loads only when you press Play video. The banner informs you and lets you withdraw: Reject turns off Clarity, the Adsterra units and YouTube, sets Google Analytics 4 to consent-denied, and stores that choice in this browser for 180 days. Cookie settings in the footer lets you change the saved choice.
Scripts and third parties
| Name | Purpose | When it loads | Storage and retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Site itself | Pages, images, the consent banner and the remembered choices | Every visit | localStorage keys md_consent and md_adbar_closed, both 180 days |
| Google Analytics 4 (G-3X6D8PVN1P) | Counts visits and shows which pages are read | Every visit by default; Reject sets analytics_storage to denied | Cookies _ga and _ga_3X6D8PVN1P, up to 2 years |
| Microsoft Clarity (project z8tx4ej05k) | Heatmaps and session recordings used to fix layout and navigation | Every visit by default; Reject stops the tag | Cookies _clck and _clsk; expiry is controlled by the provider; recordings available for up to 30 days according to Clarity’s FAQ; provider retention varies by data type |
| Adsterra (publisher 3403020) | Native Banner and Social Bar advertising that funds the site | Every visit by default; Reject removes both units | Cookies and local storage on bicea.org and adsterra.com; names vary by creative and lifetime is set by Adsterra |
| YouTube | Plays a trailer when you press Play video | Only after a video click; Reject disables playback until your choice changes | Player preferences and security storage; Google lists YSC and PREF among its cookies |
The initial HTML carries no vendor script tag for Clarity or Adsterra. It carries their URLs as strings, and a small site script creates the tags after the page parses, so those loaders do not block HTML parsing. The Google Analytics 4 tag is the one exception: its gtag.js file is requested from www.googletagmanager.com in the page head, and Consent Mode signals decide what it may store.
Cookies and local storage
The consent record is localStorage key md_consent. It holds the choice (granted or denied), the time it was made and an expiry 180 days later. The Social Bar close button stores md_adbar_closed with a timestamp, also for 180 days, so a bar you dismiss does not return on the next page. Neither key is a cookie and neither leaves this browser.
Google Analytics 4 sets _ga and _ga_3X6D8PVN1P to distinguish visits; both expire after 2 years. Microsoft Clarity documents _clck and _clsk for visitor and session identifiers; its FAQ describes recordings as available for up to 30 days. These are provider descriptions, not an independently measured inventory of this browser. Adsterra and its creative partners may use cookies and local storage associated with the advertising hosts to cap frequency, measure clicks and choose a creative; the names and lifetimes are controlled by Adsterra. Google documents YSC and PREF among its video player cookies; the player’s actual storage depends on browser settings and provider changes.
Loading choices and controls
A first visit has no saved choice: the site loads analytics, recording and advertising by default and displays the banner. The absence of a saved decision is a default setting, not a record that you pressed Accept. Google’s initial advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalization signals are denied, analytics storage begins granted, and advertising data redaction is enabled. The page then updates the signals for the current choice. A saved Reject is applied before Google Analytics is configured on later visits. Reject reloads this page so previously loaded recording and advertising code is absent from the new document. Cookie settings can reopen the banner, and Accept after Reject reloads to restore those integrations.
Personalized advertising and opt-outs
Adsterra may use cookie data to choose which ad to show. You can turn off personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out, the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out or Your Online Choices. Adsterra’s own privacy policy explains its partners and retention. Reject on this site stops the Adsterra units from loading at all; the links below are for opting out on other sites too.
Your requests
You can ask what we hold, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete a message you sent. Write to [email protected]. You can also clear md_consent and md_adbar_closed in your browser and use Cookie settings in the footer to open the banner again. Because this is a small guide site, we do not create accounts or buy mailing lists, and email you send is kept only long enough to answer and fix the page.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
If the browser sends Global Privacy Control, or sends Do Not Track as 1, the banner treats that as Reject, stores advertising and analytics storage as denied, and the integrations loader never runs Clarity, Adsterra or YouTube. We do not sell personal information.
Changes
When the script list changes, this page and the date at the top change with it. The footer link is the current text.

Questions people ask
| Do ads and analytics load before I click Accept? Yes. A first visit loads Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra immediately; YouTube waits for a video click. The banner informs you; Reject turns them off and remembers that for 180 days. |
| How do I change my choice? Use Cookie settings in the footer, or clear the md_consent key. Reject is remembered for 180 days; Accept restores the default loading. |
