Survival Island crafting stations and confirmed recipes

Crafting in Mayday: The Survival Island is a chain of stations, not a single menu of every item. Wood becomes boards at the workbench. Ore becomes ingots at the furnace. Ingots become tools at the forge. A bigger pack waits at the sewing table, and hide becomes leather on the drying frame. The table on this page lists 14 stations and tools I can attach to a public source. It is not a complete item database. Most exact counts come from one playthrough, so the status column says so.

Confirmed crafting stations and tools. Blank costs were not published.

The chain, in the order you actually meet it

The workbench is the first station. One November playthrough reads the cost as 12 wood and 5 leaves. A second run confirms wood and leaves and does not read the numbers, so the count stays at one source. Boards, the stone tools, the burrow trap, the small chest, and the raft all hang off that bench. The chest cost, 4 boards and 4 leaves, is also a single reading. After 19 October, the craft menu can spend materials sitting in a chest on the same island, and a small chest upgrades in place into a large one.

Both videos build a raft. One reads 3 boards; the other mentions coconut wood and a remaining leaf. The full ingredient quantities are unresolved, so the row is a partial recipe. It is also the gate between islands. A new destination charges food. An island you have already opened does not. Campfire cooking is what makes that food worth carrying, and the spent fire leaves charcoal for the furnace. The bed is the messy row. One account says 10 leaves and coconut wood. Another mentions twigs as well. Both stay in the table. I am not merging them into a single recipe.

Iron comes from the furnace, not the forge

The stone figure on the second island unlocks the furnace, the forge, sewing, and drying. The furnace cost that was readable is 20 stones. It turns ore into ingots and also makes brick and coal. The forge, after the 23 October patch, asks for 3 iron ingots plus bricks and guts. Before that patch the iron count was 5. The videos show an iron sword, but the nearby narrated counts cannot be tied confidently to its recipe, so its exact cost stays blank. A watering can is 4 ingots, guts, and sand, one source for the count. The shovel’s iron-and-guts cost is only partly read. The pan’s recipe was not read at all; the only claim I will repeat is that cooked food from it adds 10 percent energy, and that claim has one source.

Sewing, drying, and the well

The sewing table is where the larger backpack is made. Nails are part of the cost, and the rest of the bill was not readable, so the cell stays incomplete. The 23 October note moved sewing ahead of the drying frame. The drying frame turns hide into leather and wants coal plus other materials that were not fully named. The well is 3 bricks plus an unread remainder, and it is the water source once bricks exist. Sand dug with the shovel feeds the watering can. Glass shows up in one video without a full recipe, so glass is not a row.

Patches that changed the numbers

  • 19 October 2026: buildings can be moved, the hammer opens a build menu, comfort exists, chests feed crafting, chests upgrade in place.
  • 23 October 2026: forge iron drops from 5 ingots to 3, sewing is mentioned before the drying frame, slimes hit softer.
  • 2 November 2026: full release. Recipes can move again. The date on this page is the check date, not a promise that the next patch will agree.

Questions people ask

How do I make boards?
At the workbench, from wood. The bench itself was read as 12 wood and 5 leaves in one full-release video.
How do I get iron ingots?
Smelt ore at the furnace. The furnace has to exist first, and it unlocks after the stone figure.
Do I need a forge to make the first iron ingot?
No. The furnace makes the ingot. The forge spends ingots on tools.
How many iron ingots does the forge need?
Three, after the 23 October change. The older figure was five.
Where do I craft a bigger backpack?
At the sewing table, after the second-island unlock.
Can I move a crafting station?
Yes, since the 19 October update. The hammer’s build menu is the control the patch note names.
